A short little story on bitcoin.

Four years ago I wanted to buy bitcoin, back then it was worth around a 6 cents, and I wanted to spend 60$ on it because I thought it would be a great investment (that would have been around 1000 bitcoins given the time)
I explained to my parents what it was, how it was made, and the potential profits. They told me that it was a stupid idea, that no one would ever use a crypto-cyber currency, that anyone who bought into it was “being scammed for being a complete idiot” and “no one in their right mind would believe in that”, and said it would be a waste of 60$ and then they took my money and used for something on themselves.
Earlier this year, I had to watch the price for bitcoin go up to $1124 per coin. If my parents had listened to me, I would have made $1,124,760 overnight.

I would have been a millionaire, I would have gone from living in poverty to being a millionaire overnight and I am 99% certain that if I had bought bitcoin then I would have sold and invested into more of them. I could have been multimillionaire, overnight. But, nope my parents told me it would be a stupid decision and that it would be a complete waste.
And that’s the story of how fucking pissed I am and how I will never forgive them for that, and every time I bring it up to them they remind me how its still a stupid idea and that they made the right call and then they change the subject completely.
