Advent Calendar 4.0 - How To Airdrop Bitcoins to Your Kid's Wallets This Year (on Autopilot)

Tomorrow, on the 1st of December, many kids (and everyone else...) get to open the first door of their advent calendar.
I actually don't even know if this is just a German tradition or if people do this all over the world? Please enlighten me on that, if you read this.
@bigimaier took the advent calendar to a whole new level.
I am actually writing this post to give her (german) post a little more exposure, and translate it to English.
So before you hit the upvote button, I would love for you to CLICK HERE AND UPVOTE HER POST INSTEAD. Because it was her idea. And I think it's brilliant.
And as a new minnow, she could really use some STEEM-love.
Bigi used the recurring transaction option in Coinbase for this.

These are the steps required:
Fund your Fiat wallet with the total amount you want to give away over the 24 days until Christmas. Bigi went for 24 x 10 = €240.
Go to Tools --> Recurring Transactions and Create a New Recurring Transaction. Select the Buy BTC options, set the starting date and the daily amount. Since there's no option to cancel it after 24 times, you need to select "Until I cancel" and set yourself a reminder to cancel it manually after the 24th.

- Now create another Recurring Transaction, this time selecting the Send option, and adding the address of your kid's Bitcoin wallet. Now this is the part I wonder about... Due to Bitcoin's volatility, you may not have the exact same amount in your wallet every day. So what happens if it's less than the daily (desired) €10 worth of Bitcoin? I guess we'll find out from Bigi, or you can try it our yourself.

Voíla!
Done! If all goes well, your kids will now receive daily airdrops of Bitcoin to their new wallet!
Thank you Bigi, for this brilliant idea!
This is much healthier than chocolate, no?
OK, your kids might still want chocolate anyway, but you could wrap each piece in a little paper note that teaches them one small fact about Bitcoin or money in general.
Education, chocolate and money - who could ask for more??? ;)
After typing all this, I would love to have such a calendar for myself now, actually... ;)
Great idea. I'll be giving cryptocurrency out for xmas this year to everyone and teaching them about what I can (wallets, exchanges, etc). We do the advent calendar in Canada too so I'm sure it's a good chunk of the world that does it.
I also gave @bigimaier a 100% for the idea too.
Hey, thanks for the double vote! :)
Ah, good to know you do that in Canada, too. Funny that I never thought about if this was a global thing or not. Yes, I will make crypto presents, too, this Christmas :)
that is absolutely genius. heading there now to upvote! :)
