NXC Holdings' NXC Acquires' Cobit 'for Virtual Currency Exchange

NXC, a holding company of game company Nexon, also tackles virtual currency (encrypted currency).
NX Corp. (CEO Kim Jung-ju) announced on December 26 that it will acquire 125,000 shares of Cobit (65.19% stake) through the Financial Supervisory Service's electronic disclosure. The acquisition amount is 91.25 billion won.
Kobbit is an online virtual currency exchange established in July 2013. We are currently brokering virtual coins such as Bit Coin, Bit Coin Cache, Etherium, Etherium Classic, and Ripple.
The number of members is about 30,000, which is said to be not large. Still, Kobbit is considered to be one of the three largest virtual currency exchanges in Korea with Bitsum and Coin One.
The reason why NXC decided to acquire Kobit is due to business diversification. Although the virtual money industry has risks such as security, it is a good investment in case the market size increases.
It is said that there is no review about the expansion of the cobit business and the connection of the game business.
Nexon said, "NXC has been considering investment in start-ups with valuable digital ideas and technologies," he said.
