Bitcoin 2x and Bitcoin Gold: two new forks for Bitcoin

While Bitcoin Gold has just been released, another fork of the cybermonnaie will appear in mid-November, Bitcoin2x. There will be four "versions" of Bitcoin.

On 1 August 2017, the cyber cash Bitcoin was a first fork, following the so-called SegWit. It led to the creation of a second version of Bitcoin, called Bitcoin Cash. It was already the beginning of dissension and disagreements within the community. And since then, nothing has really been settled.

Some argue since for another version more "drastic" we say the SegWit, to increase the size of the blocks from 1 to 2 MB. This is the SegWit2x, including defended by the very influential Jeff Garzik, CEO of Bloq. Like last summer, the community did not manage to agree and this will result in a new split of the cyber currency. After Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash, the Bitcoin2x (also called "B2X") will be released on November 16th.

As with each fork, the different market places must also take a stand. And at first glance, Bitcoin2x wins many votes: HitBTC, CoinMarketCap or even Coinbase have chosen to support and offer the purchase and sale of B2X to their users. "Every customer with a Bitcoin account at the time of the fork will automatically be credited with an equal amount of Bitcoin2x," he wrote in an email sent to his customers. That is, if you have 5 Bitcoin with Coinbase, you will keep it and you will automatically receive 5 Bitcoin2x.

Bitcoin Gold

It is also a way to create a consensus around Bitcoin2x facing another fork, validated on October 24, after having completed the 491 407 blocks needed for its launch. This time it's Bitcoin Gold, which is a fourth version of the e-money. More "confidential", it does not meet (for the moment) the expected success, and faces the mistrust of the marketplaces.

Anyway, the two main currencies Bitcoin and Ether have not really been disturbed by these ads. The first has recently passed the $ 6,000 threshold, but has dropped slightly since then. It is currently worth $ 5,635 / unit. Regarding Ether, same scenario: a slight decline of 2%. An ETH is currently worth about $ 298.
