Most people that don't come from a financial background think investing means investing one big amount and let it run...
Thats the most simpe investment strategy but not the main effective one...
Investing is most effective when you invest "anti-cyclical".
It can mean that you invest every month at any price so your avarage cost ( of your investment portfolio ) will change in your favor.
