There are just too many factors out there that can affect the price of the cryptos to say but your theory about the dark web is quite interesting. But it is quite interesting that you also mentioned the banks. It is quite possible that the cryptos are being manipulated down somehow with a follow up buying spree by the banks. I would not put it past them to think of such a dastardly scheme.
