For sure there is much regulation and control. But there are also much opportunities for private investors.
Private investors do operate these Chinese bitcoin mines. But it is under the encouragement of the Chinese government. Who is to say that these energy intensive businesses operating in far flung Chinese towns had some investment directly or indirectly from local officials

In the long term Crypto fills far to many needs for it to become worth nothing. But the volatility is pretty bad. We shall see what the future brings.
they can tax bitcoin maybe by taxing exchange websites where you can buy bitcoin...
also maybe it will be taxed when you would like withdraw your btc to your bank account.
But that only shows that this banking system in the whole world is going down and the massive crash is coming... unfortunately

They have trouble collecting tax on cash purchase, now wanting to collect tax on BTC purchases? It's a bit of a stretch for them to achieve this.
