As long as countries can tax crypto I'm sure they will start adopting it. I think the biggest fear is a growing grey market which deprives governments of the ability to generate the revenue they need to provide essential services. One of the reasons why India dropped some of the higher value banknotes.
Taxation will be the biggest hurdle as crypto currency has no borders lets see how it pans out
