McDonald's launches its own currency MacCoin
Popular restaurant chain McDonald's released on Sunday information about the launch of MacCoin. The company describes the new coin as"the first fully-stocked global currency."
According to the company, MacCoin — "this is not an alternative to bitcoin", in fact, it's just a coupon or voucher for the purchase of burgers that McDonald's will distribute in 50 countries. MacCoin will be available for Purchase in 14,000 restaurants starting from August 2. The issue of coupons MacCoin dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the big Mac.
McDonald's CEO Steve Easterbrook also said that the date of the MacCoin release was not chosen by chance on August 2 — that day the Creator of bigmak Jim Delligatti would be 100 years old.
