In the UK, created an electric bike with the function of mining cryptocurrency

The British company 50Cycles introduced the world's first electric bike that can produce cryptocurrency. Coindais writes about it.

The e-bike called Toba will offer a £20 or $26.50 reward in tokens created to increase loyalty to the LoyalCoin (LYL) brands. The reward for every 1600 km is £20 ($26.56) for every thousand miles. Monitoring of mining is carried out with the help of a special program installed on the smartphone, and private keys that confirm the ownership of coins will be stored in the device on the vehicle itself.

"Not only is it the first electric bike of its kind, it will also be the first tokenized product to reward users," said founder and CEO Scott Snate.

According to him, the creation of a crypto-currency miner with a pedal drive confirms the company's desire to work with new technologies.

"Our company has always wanted to be one step ahead. Just as we saw the potential in electric bicycles 15 years ago in Tokyo, today we see great prospects in blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies and tokenization of products," Scott Snate added.

The 50Cycles also noted that at this stage the company cooperates with Loyaltycoin, a startup based in the Swiss Zug, but in the future, Toba electric bikes will have their own token, which will join a large family of digital assets. LYL tokens are currently traded on only one exchange – Cryptopia.

It is expected that the first batch of such bicycles will appear on the market this autumn, but they will not be cheap: the most inexpensive model will cost £1695 ($2250).
