BLOCK MANY VISA BITCOIN CARDS

Many news had reported the existence of many debit cards powered by Bitcoin that ran on the normal Visa circuit.

Today it is news that many of these cards have suspended the service .

In fact, several prepaid debit card providers in cryptocurrencies have abruptly terminated the service: the companies involved are Bitwala, Cryptopay, Wirex and TenX (but there are also others), and have informed via Twitter that the suspension is due to the company card issuer acting on behalf of Visa Europe (which would be Wavecrest , of Gibraltar).

Some users of other bitcoin debit cards received an email from Wavecrest informing them that all Wavecrest debit cards would be closed immediately, and that user funds would be safe on their wallets.

The Daily Beast reporter, Joseph Cox , said that according to a Visa Europe statement, the action would be initiated due to Wavecrest "non-compliance" with Visa's membership regulations.

For now there is no other information about it, but it seems that the problem could afflict even the most known BitPay and Xapo .
