A Full List Of Bitcoin Debit Cards For 2017steemCreated with Sketch.

in bitcoin •  last year

We have aggregated the top and most widely used Bitcoin debit cards from around the world. This list has been updated as of December 2016. These cards should be fully functional for 2017.

Some of the Bitcoin Shirtz team members use the Shift Card detailed below. The Shift Bitcoin debit card connects to a user’s Coinbase account and is relatively easy to use.

At Bitcoin Shirtz we encourage everyone to use Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies as much as possible. This is in contrast to using state created fiat currencies that constantly lose value and help fund wars around the world.

Bitcoin debit cards help people transact and use bitcoin above and beyond the current economic loops in the Bitcoin space.

!!!??????????????????????????!!!

DO SOMEONE KNOW WHICH BITCOIN CREDITCARDS IS WORKING IN EUROPE NOW?????

AFTER VISA STOP WORKING WITH WAVECREAST!?!?!?!?!?!?

I heard mastercard form Advcash! Do Somebody got a advcash card ?

THANKS! ;O)

Credit card!!! Wow very interesting.....

Ive noticed that alot of these cards have hidden fees. For example lets say the price of BTC is $900, they do the conversion at $860 and then charge an extra 1% on top.

Whats been your experience with these hidden costs? Any advice for someone looking to transact in GBP?

Thanks :)

·

Exactly. I didn't realise this was going on.

Great example is of this little trick I learned the hard way with Spectrocoin. On the homepage they list the exchange rate, lets say it is currently €886. So you log in, transfer some BTC. Then you goto sell the BTC into EUR but on this page the exchange rate isn't listed at all. You assume it's the price you saw when you logged in. Unless you enter exactly 1BTC, you won't know what the actual exchange rate is.

So you enter lets say .6btc or 2.3btc and the EUR amount comes up and it seems about right but actually it's terrible rates. Unless you double check the math you don't realise you are getting scammed here. It's your/my own fault, but this is super dodgy practice.

Spectrocoin offer a price €50 less than anywhere else on the market. Then take a percentage on top. Additionally, they only update their exchange price on the page for selling your bitcoin every 5 minutes or so, and the algorithm they are using is completely hidden - so what rate are they using? Maybe getting the worst possible market price for the last 5 minutes, then subtracting €50 from that. Gotta admit, that is a fantastic money maker on their part - but the moment I realised it, I stopped using them, and why I'm here now looking for another provider.

We need to bring this to the attention of the community. Over just a few months of using spectrocoin, I believe they made more money out of me then my banks have in my whole life of paying bank fees.

Be very skeptical of these services. Be sure to check each of these things thoroughly:

  • Loading fee - how much are they taking? 1% seems ridiculous. Some go as far as 2 or 3% or higher :) Madness
  • Exchange rate - they are already making profit by offering a much worse exchange rate than regular exchanges so make sure you are not getting screwed here.

Good luck

I just noticed this myself. I just deposited LTC in the account to have enough to try one of the debit cards. I noticed it was a little light when received

·

That part of it never accord to me. I guess you can't completely get rid of the old ways.

do you know what the name of the black one is? isn't there some black btc debit card>

·

Is this the one:
tenx.tech

I just heard about it. Looks pretty good.

·
·

The TenX card and service is not available to people in the United States.

·
·
·

..yet! ;-) They do plan to do it.
Android users can register for the card via the app - it costs $15.00 for the card, ONLY payable in BTC.
What sets this card apart from all of the rest? You are drawing directly against your BTC balance.
Soon you will be able to draw against Ethereum balance. You'll also be able to keep ERC20 tokens (Basically all the Ethereum based alt-coins)....by mid 2018 you'll be able to draw against ANY alt-coins...thanks to the Commit network.

You'll also be able to get a copy of your private keys that you're using with the card.

There is no card like this one - it's the best card for crypto-currency holders. Mine is on order and I can't wait for it to arrive.

There's a waiting list. Order now and you should have your card by the end of September.

Iphone users and anyone who wants to order via the web should be able to do within a month or two of this post.

EDIT TO ADD : No fun and games with exchange rates. You get to see how much BTC you have on the app. So far people happy with any exchange rates (E.g. foreign exchange rates)

TenX have built up a lot of promises; that we feel they will struggle to keep.

We offer a SegWit enabled Bitcoin Wallet with a mobile app; that would allow you to convert your Bitcoin (or 45 other Crypto's) into $,£ or Euros instantly.

Unlike all these new comers, we've been around since 2013, we have an inhouse dev team (our biggest overhead) who've created an amazing blockchain that links banking to Bitcoin; and ensures that you get the lowest possible rates: (https://themerkle.com/what-is-w-pay/)

We also have an in-house support team that can help out when you get into difficult situations (https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/70npq3/someone_stole_61_from_my_wirex_account_help/)

We wish you all the best in your journey for a new Bitcoin wallet provider; and hope that you consider Wirex:

This makes you look bad. You slander TenX with no examples or evidence to support your claims. Not how to behave in a community like this IMHO

·
·
·
·
·

We will need some real reviews to know for sure. Furthermore, you haven't given any advantage over TenX except that you have an app.

Edit:
(Just checked out your app and updates, impressed with your activity and interaction with customers . ;-)

I swear it feels like the states in missing out on all the good stuff. Also does that mean if you are from EU in the states for holiday. The card won't work?

·

Shift offers its card in black:

(They canceled mine recently due to inactivity...hadn't used it in a while as it seemed the dollar equivalent for the BTC spent on items purchased with it seemed a fair bit higher than if I had spent dollars directly.)

@slickwilly Great Job, have already started letting my team know about this!! Keep it coming!

so which one is the best? with the lowest fees and can anyone of them directly draw from the BTC balance and not other USD wallet?

Ive used Cryptopay.me for 10 months. Very good

I use coinsbank debit card (USD) more than a year already, and it`s work perfectly everywhere in the world.

I'm confused. Is this a card I can use to access my steemit funds? If so, can you explain a little more about how it works...for Dummies?

·

Hi @loveon,
Weiting from WageCan here.

Basically, those cards could convert cryptocurrencies into fiat currencies, e.g. USD, EUR, and GBP, and load to your cards.
And you could withdraw money from ATMs with those cards, just like how you do with your normal debit card.
But as far as I know, none of the cards mentioned above could convert Steem to fiat curriencies.

Hope this answer clears a bit of your question :)

·
·

This was very helpful. I've been trying to figure out if it was worth getting one of these to begin with.

·
·
·

It depends on the fees though. Some support ER20 tokens and other cryptos. TenX and Wirex looks cool. I prefer TenX for now. If you were to convert to Steem to Ethereum and then load your account from a cryptocurrency card provider which supports Eth and ECR20 tokens, it may just be worth it. ;-).

Let us know when your new cards are available, if you can find an alternative solution quickly enough to the setback of MyChoice/WaveCrest restrictions by Visa, huge respect to you and your team if you ever get this sorted out!

·

mychoice and wavecrest both banned? What bitcoin debit cards are working right now?

·

Centra.tech is the only card which works for now.

At least say something! 🙄

Hi @bitcoinshirtz,
Weiting from WageCan here.
Thanks for making the list and mentioning us :)

Just dropped you an email to explain what happened in the industry and why it's a good idea to increase our ranking (given the fact that we're the only company right now can issue cards outside of Europe)

You could use referral code "7NNcu6J6" to get 20% off to try it out our cards.
Feel free to ask me anything.

Hi and thanks for a good list. I see Revolut will also add crypto payments. I really like their web page. Any thoughts on this?

Hi; Wirex community manager here!

Great review; I just wanted to ask if you've tried any other providers or have you even tried Wirex?

We are working on a new card provider and are hoping to get it online as soon as possible available worldwide:

It only works in europe, so say, I liked my wirex card very much, now I cant use it any more

Hi, are all these cards considered pre-paid? If so, what are the restrictions using these? I've been declined using my BitPay at car rental services.

·

They all appear to be prepay. Though, Coinsbank has several options. They are also not in every country. Coinsbank was missing one of the largest markets, the US. As well, they seem to be struggling with operations.

Great list.

thanks. I have a lot to read :)
which do you prefer?

·

We have only tried a few, but Shift Payments stands out. They have really good customer service.

·
·

ok. thanks. I'll look into it

Some cards only work with European Union ... as of now , which sucks pretty much , and some don't work with USA ... Imagine decentralization with this limits .. This should not be happening !!

what debit card is good to use if the user is from Philippines?

Good article. Try to get one.

awesome article.
do anybody know which of them works now after the issue with wave crest?

·

I don't think any works. Either you are in the US or Singapore, otherwise No!

Thanks a lot this was really helpful. will have to check the site about for the shirts.

I don't see a working card now due to WaveCrest being shut down by VISA.

Not working here in any of my 3 browsers

Has anyone heard of Tokia? It is a new card system that is set to be released. Any thoughts or ideas on if it will even work?

Ten X looks very promising compare to the other ones.

Any input on what the best options in the EU are at the moment? I used to have a Bitwala card, but it was shut down. Thanks!

Merci, c'est exactement le type de synthèse que je préparais, quelques heures de travail en moins.
:-)
