My alt of choice is certainly Steem. Though I still don't view Steem as a currency like I do BTC. To me Steem is a new version of a crypto stock offering. Instead of being a store of value you are holding a level of voting within the Steem ecosystem. Kinda like owning a piece of Facebook ad revenue.
With that being said I can certainly see a huge upside value to Steem using your metrics from the show. When you consider that Steem now has over 1 million user accounts and is often the most used network by a large margin it certainly seems undervalued to its current valuation. When you add in the businesses being developed on top of Steem it only intensifies it's value proposition.
None the less I still believe that holding BTC is a better value mainly due to my belief that sound currency is more important than social interactions based on a less sound money.
This brings me to the lightning network where I couldn't be more bullish towards. Lightning offers users a piece of the pie by monetizing their interactions through opening well connected channels. I can't wait to hear your next guest talk about it and will definitely try to be in the livestream.
If you want an easy way to test out lightning you can find multiple apps available in the Google Play Store that offer interactions on mainnet. Some only allow for sending through lightning while some offer both ways. Neither offer the value proposition I see from hosting your own node and really becoming familiar with how the whole system works.
