Did the Venezuela Petro news spook the entire crypto-market? A bunch of Bgold just moved. The Monero community has at times become so toxic that it has helped fuel MoneroV's creation. Anyone can fork any coin and once that happens it is up to the market to determine which coin is the true coin. The current atmosphere in the Monero community is VERY telling. Hello Adam, always enjoy your show. I know you didn't mention Brhodium today, but because you have been talking about it in the past, I want to point to this:
To claim your Brhodium you have to make an account with your email address. This means after you claim they can connect your public keys with your identity and you can use your privacy.
Bitfury e.g. is making blockchain tracking tools for government agencies and identification of public keys is very profitable for them (tool get more useful). My concern is that they sell our identity to companies like this.
Individuals will lose their privacy but even worse is that BTC will lose its fungibility! I think there is no reason at all to ask people to use their email to claim, it can all be done through the signature (just insert the signature into the wallet).
That is why I don't trust this project as long as you need to use your email to claim. I will not claim my Brhodium, and will ask everyone to think about this issue before you claim!
Also I want to ask Adam what he thinks of this? If my concern is not relevant please counter it, I will claim when you come with a good reason. If you agree on my concern please warn your followers! Thanks!
The time to register for the Brhodium airpdrop passed a long time ago. Once it it on an exchange you can buy it and you won't have to worry about the above scenario. Yes bitfury is trying to track everyone and if you have at anytime associated a PUBLIC BTC address with your name then they probably can figure out how many Bitcoin you have. More people are doing that (listing public BTC addresses with their names) than registered with Brhodium.
I did register for the airdrop, I only had to sign with my public key what keeps my wallet anonymous. My concern is about claiming, to claim you need to create an account and give your email address. I found a solution already, I will create an anonymous email with Torguard, a crypto friendly VPN service where you can even pay with main net Lightning.
