Lightning Network Gets A Big Jolt Today
Lightning network has done some pretty awesome things lately in terms of how fast it can make transactions on the Bitcoin network. It has opened bitcoin up to large new masses and one of the biggest updates has just come.
I don't know about you but I shop A LOT on Amazon, like legit so much I hardly leave the house to shop now lol
Well now to fuel that addiction even more Amazon is now allowing you to pay with Bitcoin via the Lightning network!
Now there are some important notes here about how it works.
Amazon is not directly accepting Bitcoin they have not added it to their payment network.
The startup the is processing these payments is called Moon which is a lightning-enabled wallet as a browser extension

Now the big question will be how much is it used?
If used enough it could spark Amazon as well as other leading stores to start accepting and processing bitcoin over the lightning network which would help with future adoption.
Does this seem like a feature you would use?
I envision that this will be how it all gets started and what we will probably see when Bakkt launches to support Starbucks as well. An interface to leverage the Lightning Network is a great start!

Do we have any idea when Bakkt is launching ?
Not yet but many expect to be this quarter as the government shutdown delayed some pending approvals needed.
