IoT Botnet “could take down the internet” researchers report
Researchers at firm Qihoo 360 report that the new malware called IoT Botnet no longer focuses on cracking weak passwords; instead, it exploits vulnerabilities in various IoT devices and enslaves them into a botnet network. The exploit it uses target IoT devices from the following manufacturers:
Dlink (routers)
Netgear (routers)
Linksys (routers)
Goahead (cameras)
JAWS (cameras)
AVTECH (cameras)
Vacron (NVR)
The IoT reaper malware already infected around two million devices and grows at an extraordinary rate of 10,000 new devices a day. Stay away from unsecure internet resources!
