This is because hacker is everywhere!
It is clear that BTC is not the proper currency for transaction. It is like the GOLD or SILVER, you can only stack them and eventually trade.
BITCOIN has to be seen as a reserve of value.

How will the btc be adopted by "normal" people?
I think the Lightning Network will be key to that. Once that, and a nice user-friendly front end are developed, BTC will be well on its way to mainstream use. Which ideally will happen this year.
let's hope since every day that passes is losing "clients"

I think Bitcoin lost its ability to be used as a "currency" when the miners failed to increase the block size because they wanted to pump up the transaction fees
