Bitcoin, virtual worlds, and profit$

The lines between virtual and real are blurring by the minute. Cash, the old relic of money, is becoming obsolete. Billions of virtual transactions take place daily. Most are oblivious to the fact that they are transacting in virtual credits (currency).

With the advent of Bitcoin and the blockchain virtual currency is now gaining legitimacy. Mainstream media is embracing Bitcoin transmitting programming to the general masses. Money itself is beginning to evolve at a rapid pace. However, most still apply the old rules of finance to the new technology.

So the big question that I ask users of blockchain tech is this: why create a new system that mirrors the old system? The current monetary system is old and obsolete. 1% of the population owns almost 98% of the assets. A portion of these "assets" are virtual created on a general ledger. Not to mention the virtual units are given first to the owners. Then they lend these units to the masses at interest!

Instead of using the old rules of money why not create new rules. The old rules state you have to use one currency to transact in. I say we use millions of different currencies. The old rules state that money is not fun. Economist and central banks control the narrative and currency. I say the people control their own currency and make earning money fun!

So is there a rule that states you can only earn money with a job? Whoever created this notion ought to be charged with crimes against humanity. Life is too short to be working day and night for virtual currency. But there can be a better way. And all that it requires is a little imagination.

Since money is now virtual why not make it fun. Can a virtual unit have value? Sure it can. Take a look at the existing virtual units. Whether it's Dogecoin or crypto kitties value can exist. Now I believe that some very smart devs will piece this puzzle together.

Games and virtual worlds are a billion dollar a year business. Millions of gamers world wide play their favorites on various platforms. "Coins" are earned daily yet most gamers aren't rewarded. I would always laugh since I could buy a virtual asset but could never cash out.

What I see on the horizon is simple. Those coins in the games we play will become tangible. That virtual world you have been working on will become a cash flow generating machine. Those who embrace the new will flourish. Those who hold on to the obsolete will be left behind.

More to come...

There are already a few out there like Lordmancer where the game currency is real cryptocurrency that you can cash out.

I'm trying to compile a list of games. :) I'll check out lordmancer after my lunch.
