Why Mining CryptoCurrency in a Web Browser is Completely Useless?
Recently we have been hearing a lot of Rumours of Malware that allow others to Mine Cryptocurrencies from your Computer via your Browser. Every other day, Media outlets seem to be Running Stories about the latest Crypto Jacking Scams. While these tales are mostly true, the extent of the problem has been Overly Dramatized. Smart criminals aren’t covertly Crypto Mining in your Browsers, not because they’re incapable of doing so, but because it's simply not Profitable enough.
Now the only Side effect that this could have is a slowdown in your Computer Performance and some Heating issues. Now if you are not able to determine that you have been Crypto Jacked then there could be a tiny problem. The constant Mining of Cryptocurrencies could Heat up your Entire System and lead to a Crash.
How to know if You are Being Crypto jacked?
It's very Simple just open your Task Manager and see the CPU Usage. If your Computer feels Sluggish than Usual than Check it out.

You can clearly see the Difference there. So it is not that hard to Spot if you are Crypto Jacked.

One trick done by mining browser malware is that a window minimizes and hides behind a clock so it's practically invisible unless you hide the windows' taskbar
Whatever they do your Computer will feel sluggish and you will get to know that there is some problem.
Then the rest is easy.
Usually, but the next-gen crypto malware is much smarter and it may get unnoticed. If malware maxes out your CPU then it's obvious that something is going on, but what if it limits it's usage to 10-20%?
Even if it's an i7 processor CPU usage of 10-20% will lead to nothing.
I know that cause I mine with my CPU too.
It's isn't nothing if you multiply this by thousands of infected computers around the world.
Yes that would be the next thing in all of this but Browser Mining in Pools I don't think it's viable for now.
If it was such a big operation we would have seen a Newer Pool arrive.

It is useless if the malware mine "Bitcoin" ... but if they are mining another cryptocurrency? It is very profitable to infect hundreds of PCs, even with low CPU usage and a low hash rate.

Monero at 10 H / s (very low rate) gives 1 cent per day (1 dollar in 100 computers).
It seems quite low, but 1 dollar for doing nothing is very welcome; not to mention if the infected computers are thousands, it is very very welcome 😆
This is an Open Monero Browser Miner. In this website, the owner Prompts us if we would like to Pay them using their CPU. It's very Nice way of asking.
Now look at the Max hashes it is getting. And I say Max as you can see my CPU Usage is maxed out at the bottom right corner.
It is giving 5 Hashes and do you think I am going to let that Website open for 24 Hours. The only persons who use their Computers for a longer period of time are People who dabble in Computers and know about Stuffs.
Now let's assume a person gets 1000 Users to infect and each user is a Newbie and opens their Computers for roughly about 4 Hours a Day which is overexaggerating. That would earn the Suspicious Person behind the Malware less than a Dollar per Day which is not good enough for them especially if there comes a Patch in near Future that Nullifies that.

Anyway there cryptos wich only use the CPU... maybe they hashrate can be better than Monero.
Yes, that is quite Possible but Browser Mining exists for only Monero at least for now.
I have even seen miners who detect and work only at full power when the computer is not being used.
For example:
This is a Proper Miner, not a Malware Injected Miner.
But I do believe in Future it might be Possible to Mine coins without Knowing but I also Believe the Security patches would be Updated.
Everything is possible in computer's world 😂 I remember some time ago, uTorrent used the user CPU to mine Bitcoin 😐
Yes, uTorrent is a nice example because we had to keep our PC's open for Hours to download a File so that could have been Profitable.
