LIBRARY Coin: Publish your own stuff and potentially award you $1,000 in LBC.
Dear LBRYians,
In case you didn't know, y'all are HUGE! We now have more than 100,000 people on our beta waiting list. We thought it was high time to give you the inside scoop on a few updates (and offer you an opportunity to jump to the top of the waiting list).
First – publishing is about to go live very soon!
Register as user https://goo.gl/jMNoJr to Earn 5.0 LBC coin = 0.00352485 BTC
This is very exciting, because it's what LBRY is all about:
Becoming the best place in the world to connect content producers (Next Gen Youtube) directly to their paying audience.
This is also where you get that opportunity to jump the list. You can now apply to be a publishing partner on LBRY. If we really like the content you want to upload to LBRY, then we will move you to the front of the list and potentially award you $1,000 in LBC.
If you're not a content producer, please tell your friends who we are. We are looking for filmmakers, musicians, writers – anyone who produces quality original content and wants to cut out the middleman between them and their audience.
Now down to more basic housekeeping:
- Waiting List Management. Previously, we rewarded potential beta users for spreading the word about LBRY. Those who referred users to our waiting list were moved further towards the front of the line. Now we will factor in how long you have been on the waiting list. Your spot in our waiting list is now determined by the number of invited users that are credited to you + the number of weeks you have been on the list.
- International Support. We are temporarily pausing invitations to non-English speaking countries until we can do a more extensive international roll-out. Our team does not currently have the bandwidth to add non-English language support and features. (Trust us, we’re working on it.) This temporary measure is necessary to ensure everyone has a good experience on the LBRY protocol.
- More Invites Coming! When publish goes live, we'll be inviting another 2,000 people. It's not too late to get some more invites in over the weekend!
I've flagged this post for tag abuse.
It's not about #bitcoin or #steemit.
Good. It is about time I see someone else who does the same thing as I do. The author does mention the worth of the reward in bitcoins though.
I'm hearing more and more about this LBRY project, will it do for YouTube what Steemit has done for Reddit?
Can you direct me to a video explaining the main features and opportunities?

According to the announcement, the service will offer both free and paid programming. It is based on a peer-to-peer live video streaming protocol BitTorrent has been working on for several years. The company said the service will be available for iOS, Android, Mac, and Apple TV platforms.
As BitTorrent points out in its announcement, “Livestreaming broadcast is an ongoing problem in terms of both performance and monetization…there has been very little innovation around the distribution of live video on the internet. Currently, HTTP Live Streaming (or HLS) is most commonly used for live video streaming. But it is notorious for latency issues, also known as lag.”
In essence, BitTorrent is replacing an outdated internet protocol with a new one designed for streaming content – just like we’re doing here at LBRY.
We think this is a pretty cool development. We’re always excited to see competition for “Big Content.”
But there is a rub:
Notice that first part? “Proprietary and patented…”
LBRY can deliver on similar goals, but our protocol is free and open-source.
Open-source software means you the user have control. BitTorrent may be a great company, but ultimately it will maintain complete control over its platform. With an open-source service like LBRY, you will be able to make it better and even customize it to meet your own specific needs. And you won’t be paying a middleman or sitting through ads to get your content.
We not only want to free video, music, and other digital creations from the clutches of “Big Content,” we want to free the user as well.

Hi! This post has a Flesch-Kincaid grade level of 5.4 and reading ease of 87%. This puts the writing level on par with Jane Austen and JK Rowling.
Thank you for the JK Rowling ;-)
Party over night here..
