เมื่อเร็วนี้บริการรับขำระเงินออนไลน์ที่ชื่อว่า Square ได้ออกมาประกาศว่าทางบริษัทสามารถขาย Bitcoin มูลค่ารวมได้ถึง 34.1 ล้านเหรียญสหรัฐบน platform ของ Square ภายในไตรมาสแรกของปี 2018 แต่ถึงแม้จะสามารถได้มากถึงจำนวน 34.1 ล้านเหรียญสหรัฐ ทางบริษัทฯ ยังต้องใช้เงินจำนวน 33.9 ล้านเหรียญสหรัฐเพื่อทำการซื้อ Bitcoin และมาจำหน่ายต่อให้กับลูกค้าที่ใช้บริการของ Square ซึ่งทำให้บริษัทมีกำไรจากการขาย Bitcoin เป็นจำนวน 200000 เหรียญสหรัฐ

สำหรับราคา Bitcoin ได้ปรับตัวลดลงสูงสุดมากถึง 50 เปอร์เซ็นต์มีราคาต่ำสุดที่ประมาณ 6926 เหรียญสหรัฐต่อ 1 Bitcoin ในช่วงไตรมาสแรกของปี 2018 แต่ราคาได้ปรับเมื่อสูงขึ้น ณ ขณะเวลานี้มีราคาซื้อขายประมาณ 9100 เหรียญสหรัฐต่อ 1 Bitcoin
