Are the banks willing to start using cryptocurrencies in the near future?

There is a lot of speculation right now saying that banks could start using cryptocurrencies in maybe 5 to 10 years.

Maybe when it will be more secure for all people and if there is a 100% trust on this new currency.

What are your thoughts on this? Is it just a speculation or could this be something that will happen in the near future?
