You'll make much more money trading, but if your crap at trading you'll probably loose all your money, with the mining you will eventually make a profit, unless the mining company shuts down and does a runner haha!
You must take a risk, after all Genesis is well known firm, large publicity and marketing efforts. With that kind of exposure I hope that they will not get out of business in near future :)
Yes I do trust genesis, I have some mining power with them, and two others but I trust genesis the most
