Anyone else have a Bitcoin treasure chest?

When I first got into bitcoin they were trading for sub $2 and spiked to $5 each when I lost interest. I at that time mined with a couple AMD cards and had a decent go of it in Slush's mining pool. I gambled away most of my coins on some of the first Bitcoin casinos cause at the time I was only 19 and impulsive.

When I quit Bitcoin I had backed up my wallet (with something like 4-7 coins on it) on a SanDisk Cruzer Mini flash drive (1gb). I think I even sealed it in a zip lock and then put it in my parents' safe. But since then I've been unable to find it. I've flirted with Bitcoin many times since then and nearly every spike I get a hankering to hunt for my buried Bitcoin treasure. I've searched for it numerous times unsuccessfully. Maybe someday I'll find it.

Anyone else have a similar story?

Dude I lost a laptop with a bunch of litecoin i purchased for dirt cheap around 2012. It sucks man. Put your money in a hardware wallet. even if you lose it, you can always recover your wallet granted you have the seeds. check out www.bitcoindabbler.com for affordable wallet.

Oh yeah I've wisened up somewhat since then but I figured it would be safe. What I didn't count on was how easy it would be to lose such a small thing as a thumb drive.

not telling, its a secret

your parents stole your coins and never told you about it? ouch!

Sucks, man happy hunting! I lost lots of files once, when an external drive crapped out didn't lose any BTC though.
