They won't get rid of bitcoin but they can sure as hell fk with the growth.. it will get to a point where people will get fed up with the manipulations and attacks on bitcoin that they will move to another coin with a similar emotional value... LTC... just an opinion

Correct, they cannot cease the existence of Bitcoin but they can make it highly undesirable to own.
Achievable by cutting it off from fiat systems, taxing aggressively, requiring exchanges to jump through hoops, and requiring any business transacting with btc to have a license.
