Bitcoin in China: the rumor is confirmed
The Shanghai Exchange Platform BTCC, one of the largest in the country, has announced that it will no longer accept new users as of today and that it will cease its cryptocurrency exchange operations in China on 30 September. However, it will continue this activity internationally and ensure that its mining pool will not be affected. While informal sources of a ban on the exchange of crypto-money in China are increasing, the country's authorities have so far made no official announcement.
This decision has created a short-term no-win situation for the nation-state of China, for its consumers, and for the crypto world generally.
