Bitcoin Unlimited Miners May Be Preparing a 51% Attack on Bitcoin

in #bitcoin7 years ago (edited)

The title of this article should not say may because they are going to preform a hard fork if they can get consensus. The Bitcoin Unlimited group is not doing anything sneaky they have been very open and democratic about what is going to happen. The only people who are against this obvious need for larger blocks are the ones trying to create second layer products to solve the full block problem. It's makes for a great business if you can create a problem and then offer the solution for it. If you spend 2 seconds on Google you can see that the blocks are full and have been for a while now. I thought this article was very fair and unbiased to both camps.

This would be funny if it wasn't so sad. Bitcoin is the longest chain with the most proof of work. Miners making a change though voting with their hash power is called Nakamoto consensus. It is the way bitoin is changed. It's not an attack it's a feature of bitcoin. People want bigger blocks and on chain scaling. Miners are listening.

Blockstream and core are censoring information to make it seem like an attack. All discussion in support of bigger blocks is being censored on forums controlled by Theymos. He can't sensor here.

It will all be over soon and we can all get back to putting this thing on the moon.

I always thought there was a pretty good chance that Bitcoin Core Dev would be hijacked and and turned into a bankster fraud. Oh well, it's about forking time.
