MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian authorities have arrested two engineers who used computers belonging to the Russian nuclear center to explore virtual currencies, the Interfax news agency reported.

The spokesman of the Russian Institute for Experimental Physics Research, the body of the engineers, the suspension process, stressing that because of the use of the center's devices for personal purposes.

The spokesman did not specify the number of detainees, nor did the Federal Security issued any statement on the arrests or charges against engineers specializing in nuclear weapons.

According to Russian media, the arrest of the engineers came after someone tried to connect the super computer located inside the nuclear facility to the Internet, which was immediately monitored by federal security and begins an investigation.

The supercomputer inside the center, which had designed the first Soviet-era nuclear bomb, is used to simulate nuclear weapons, and it is absolutely forbidden to connect any of the center's computers to the Internet because of the sensitivity of the facility.
