The birth of Jesus: This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger. Luke 2:12

The gospel of Luke and the gospel of Saint Matthew, are the only gospels that recount the birth of Jesus. The christianity and its message of salvation began with this miraculous birth in the city of Bethlehem. This birth was so important for the history of humanity that the Christian era began with it, with the year 1; the world after this birth would never be the same again.
The gospel of Luke relates that the holy family lived in Nazareth, but since the emperor Augustus had ordered a census and Joseph was a native of Bethlehem of Judea, they had to go there to register; and it was in this city that Mary reached the time to be a mother, but since there was no place for them in a shelter, the gospel of Luke relates, Mary gave birth in a manger.
The birth of Jesus constituted the realization of the covenant between God and David through the prophet Nathan, and the conclusion of the prophecies about Emmanuel by the prophet Isaiah.
In this way, the gospel of Luke recounts the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem and how his birth was announced to some shepherds through an angel:
"While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, ´Do not be afraid, I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.´
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
´Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests´", Luke 2:6-14.
