Ratel's photos #274 Forest Birds-215
The lesser whitethroat (Sylvia curruca)
It is very difficult to distinguish this bird from the Common Whitethroat. They look almost identical. But there is a slight difference! Color of the legs. Common Whitethroat have bright legs, and Lesser Whitethroat have dark legs.
Like all typical warblers, they prefer open spaces, near water, swamps, shores and coastal forests. This bird was looking for insects in small wet thickets, near the river bank.
Pretty cowardly, unlike Blyth's reed warblers, which are very many and common in such places.
She have a hidden lifestyle, always keeps to the ground, likes to hide in the undergrowth.
