The citrine wagtail (Motacilla citreola)

At the end of April, when there was no snow and it was dry, I went to my relatives in the Novosibirsk region. Why am I telling this? The fact is that there are absolutely no forests in that region! Only fields, flooded meadows, steppe.

To better understand what I mean, here is the old photo of april 2017. On the photo just this place ... and my brother :)

So, this "lemon-colored" wagtail was discovered by me at small rivers near the meadows. Actually, where wagtails are supposed to dwell - near the water. White wagtails are certainly an exception. But about them, look in past posts.
Outwardly citrine wagtail resembles a yellow wagtail. Differences only in the coloring. She has a yellow head, while "yellow wagtail" has a gray colored head. In my opinion, citrine wagtail looks prettier :)

The bird continuously walked through mud, water and earth, searching for insects. Unfortunately she turned out to be very cowardly and did not let her approach her. Unlike the same yellow wagtail.
