Meet all our animals#3: Wild birds in our shelter (more pics inside)

in #birds6 years ago (edited)

In addition to dogs and cats, wild birds live with us. They are mostly disabled and can not fly. The exception is pigeons. We do not hold birds that can live independently in nature. If such a bird comes to us for some reason, we rehabilitate it and release it.

These pigeons orphaned in connection with the divorce of the owners ... They belonged to her husband, but the house went to his wife and she demanded to remove the birds. The husband could not take them and the pigeons came to us.

Our storks. Every year new arrivals come to us. Now there are ten of them. Fortunately, people began to take the affected storks to themselves more often. To have a stork is quite expensive and we are already limited in the ability to accept new birds.

Most of our storks are single-winged. The exception is Beak, who has two wings, but one of them was formed incorrectly, so he also can not fly. The second exception is Muse. She has beautiful wings, but she does not have legs.

Wild ducks and geese. Wild ducks not only live with us, but also breed offspring ... Disability is not a hindrance to love. Young growth often remains, but this year they flew away for the first time. Only those who can not fly remain with us.

And of course the gray ravens! They suffer quite often, but wishing to take a crippled bird quite a bit.

And finally your old friend - one-winged seagull Asya :)
