A little collection with my pictures of the great crested grebe

On my several photography trips in Austria I was able to take several pictures of the great crested grebe. This is a very nice water bird that lives in rivers and natural lakes. It is more or less common, and I found it on several occasions at the wetlands of the Danube and the Inn River. I really like this bird because it is not very shy and at least you can get close enough for some pictures. I am sure I will also take several nice pictures of this bird in the future, and you will probably be one of the first to see them when I do so.

These birds are very good fishers, and they hunt underwater for small fish they can find in the rivers and lakes. I was already several times able to take some pictures of the great crested grebe while they were fishing. I also managed to take some pictures and even a video of these birds during their mating. These birds are very good swimmers, and they hunt underwater for fish. I saw a nice video of them hunting underwater, but it wasn't mine.
