Carolina Chickadee
Carolina Chickadees are adorable little acrobats.
I spot them from time to time.
But it is usually at a great distance and only for a fleeting moment.
Today I hiked two miles back into the forest and I waited patiently.
It paid off as this cute little fellow floated in and went to work.
This Chickadee spun, hopped, flipped, fluttered, hung, dipped, dropped, swung, climbed... it was an amazing show!
You can tell from these series of shots how busy it was.
They are very quick.
She would dangle by one foot and fall and rotate catching the next protrusion with her other foot.
I felt like I was wathcing an artist in the zone.

A beautiful Chickadee in the middle of the forest.
Perfection!
All pictures taken by @rawruss with a Nikon D3400 w/ 70-300mm lens on August 31, 2018 in North Florida. With a little help from the cutest Carolina Chickadee ever.
A beautiful bird, I want to hold it in my hands!
Me too, they are so adorable!
:-))
It's close enough to the black capped chickadee that I had to look it up to see the difference. Chickadees are fun to watch and they will eat out of your hand on some of the walking/skiing trails around our city.
Agreed. They look exactly the same to my untrained eye. Because I live jn North Florida, I always assume it is a Carolina. In my research I saw that they can eat out of your hands, happy to hear that is true! I need to try that when I have the opportunity. They are so adorable! Thank you for your comments, cheers!
