One of the world's most exotic looking bird species,the Euradian Hoopeo is a common resident of India.
It is a mediam sized bird and can be found near human habitation.
The plumage on the chest varies from pinkish-brown to chestnut.
It has a spectacular erectile crest on the head. The crest is usually held flat but raised when the bird alights or is excited.
The Eurasian Hoopoe is known for taking sun and dust bath, spreading out its wings and tail low against the ground and tilting the head up.
