RE: Macro photos of birch leaf and male and female flower

in #birch5 years ago

Thank you so much, my Dear friend @Siggjo! You showed us the difference between the male and female birch. I think that few, who knows how they differ. I did not know this, did not betray it much value. But, now, I see that for my part, it was an omission. But, I'm glad you opened my eyes. As for the photos themselves, they are, as always, great. It seems that these young leaves and branches are covered with a layer of wax that glitters in the sun. Very beautiful!

Yes, I showed you the difference between a male flower and female flower on the birch @Barski
Thanks for the well-worded and helpful comment @Barski
I must add that in birch, there is only one kind of tree that has both male and female catkins on the same tree. What I was trying to show was that both male and female flowers are on the same tree.
This is unlike the case of Goat willow (Salix caprea) where some trees only have female flowers and other trees that just have male flowers.

On the birch, all trees have both male and female flowers.
Hope this clarifies the difference between the Goat willow tree and birch.
