Excellent job highlighting the advancements of famous geneticists who didn't even need to know the structure of DNA to make their discoveries. I'd also like to add that replica plating is still in use today in many modern labs (though its thought of as an outdated technique at this point).
I'm still not convinced Neurospora crassa is a better test subject than children though.
