I didn't know at all about the RNA world hypothesis. Interesting. I guess that it is something that cannot be tested, isn't it?
Certainly not easily testable, which is likely why after 50 years its still the RNA world hypothesis and not theory or thrown out entirely. It's more fun to think about then anything else really.
Evolution 2.0 by Perry Marshall explores numerous theories and scientific data particular to this topic, which is another one of my recommendations.
