Concept: when Oberdan Bezzi revisits the Honda CMX 500

in #bike6 years ago

When we released our CMX 500, Honda made us a fun custom, with great accessibility and versatility. To top it all off, the Rebel qualifier has been added to give the impression of a database cramming that serves CBs, CBRs and other CBXs. However, it still lacks a little spice for the sauce to really take. The unmistakable designer Oberdan Bezzi has started the game and here is the book: a cafe racer called Darkness.

A coffee well black and tight that takes the front of a CB4 Interceptor seen at the EICMA 2017. And for good reason, this other concept, but official this time, is also a "Cafe Racer". It will be recalled that it is provided with a propeller at the front. As the machine rises, the kinetic energy created by the propeller is converted into electricity. It powers a touch screen that displays a digital road map and provides connectivity with the driver's smartphone.

The Darkness is only suggestive because its vocation is to remain accessible. The engine remains that of the CB 500, a 471 cm3 Euro 4, with a maximum power of 45.6 hp to 8500 rpm that is suitable for the A2 license. The torque is 44.6 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The box is six-speed with a chain transmission.

The CMX 500 is a motorcycle that can satisfy a wide range of users, easy to use. Its simplicity of construction makes it suitable for a variety of personalizations and preparations. And why not this one?
