LOVE NUGGET 30: LOVE'S FLAVOR!

Right now three things remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.1 Cor. 13:13 (ISV)

Today too many people are running after things that to them mean the whole world. If given the opportunity to ask some of them one or two questions, you get to hear responses which clearly show that most of them pursue what we can easily summarize as vanity upon vanity. There is something that doesn't fall into the category of things that are for a while. That thing is love.

Love is far more durable. It lives on and on. As a matter of fact, it's the only virtue that continues forever just like the soul of a man does. Someone once described love as the salt of life. This makes sense because just like salt gives taste to cooked food, love gives flavour to life. Love makes life enjoyable. The love that we get from our loved ones, families and friends helps to keep us going when we lose hope along life's journey.

Love helps us put ourselves together even when things we cannot explain are unfolding. Love encourages us to keep going. Today most parts of the world are in a state of chaos. There's peace and progress though when love is given a chance but very often the reign of love is overthrown by the selfishness and greed of humans. This is the reason why the world is in its current state.

Many are unwilling to yield to love. Others are ignorant of what love can do when it's given a chance . They do not know love can transform the world around them. Today's quote presents love as the sum of all wonderful virtues one can think of. If you dedicate yourself to love you'll find that all others will find expression in you and through you without stress. For example, when love becomes the theme and rhythm of your heart and life, you'll find that joy, patience, kindness, self control, peace and so much more, will become normal.

With love we can change the bad to good, the good to better and even make that which has become better the best. Looking at the focal verse for today, so much can be learnt. The need for hope cannot be over stated. The place of faith cannot be over emphasized. But as important as faith and hope are, God tells us that love is the greatest. How about us truly seeking to love more, rather than looking for more faith? If something is described as greatest, it means it's the most superior.

**Lots of people know that to have the things they desire they need to keep hope alive and not allow their firm confidence in God's Word (faith) go to sleep. How I wish we'll also realize that love is even more important than these. It's important how we treat people. It turns around to affect our lives in more ways than we recognize. Dear friends, today and always let's know that a life of love disposes us to receiving good.
