WAYS TO BOOST YOUR MEMORY

Everyone has a tendency to forget something once in a while but then it could be frustrating and annoying to those around you if it becomes a habit.

Even if yours isn't a habit, it's still necessary to maintain a healthy mental system

Below are some points you could consider to help you boost your memory.

  • NEVER STOP LEARNING: One of Albert Einstein's quote says " once you stop learning,you start dying".

You need to keep up with learning everyday,your mind is like a muscle,the more you challenge it,the stronger it becomes besides there is never an age limit for it because as soon you stop learning, there becomes a reduction in the functionality of the brain and unused neural connection withers away.

You could try learning new skills and developing yourself.

MAKE EXERCISING A HABIT: The relevance of exercising in the boosting of our memory can never be over-emphasised.

Physical exercise helps build your brain and body,it may interest you to know that regular exercise doesn't just build bigger muscles and a stronger heart but it increases brain volume too.

It's never too later to start now, you can start by talking a walk which ever would work best for you, swimming is also recommended.

GET ADEQUATE SLEEP: Lack of quality sleep will impair your memory, creativity, judgement and attention.

Adequate sleep is necessary for your health and mental well-being, it would also keep you sound and focused for your day-to-day activities.

You might create time for naps in the afternoons if you are off duty, as little as 20-40minutes would help improve your memory.

What you take in also determines how well you would be able to sleep,so pay attention to foods and drinks that might make catching some sleep hard for you.

  • MAKE TIME FOR MEDITATION: To meditate means to sit or lie down and come to a deep rest while remaining conscious.

It's relaxing and soothing and has been found to reduce stress and pain, lower blood pressure and improve memory.

The brain contains gray matters which declines as we age, research has shown that meditation increases gray matter in the brain.

  • DO WELL TO BALANCE YOUR NUTRITIONAL NEEDS WITH A MULTIVITAMIN SUPPLEMENT: Adequate vitamins are needed for effective functioning of the brain and memory.

Proper amounts of vitamins C,D,E,K and B complex in the diet have all been linked to memory enhancement including minerals like magnesium, iron,iodine and zinc.

  • MAKE MUSIC A PART OF YOU: Everything that has to do with music(playing,listening,dancing, singing) plays a good role in enhancing your memory.

Music is one the few activities that engages both sides of the brain simultaneously,instrumental music positively impacts memory,focus, attention, language skills and physical coordination.

  • TAKE UP A HOBBY: Mental intensive or craft hobbies has a great way of improving your memory, attentions you could channel on your hobby could help ward you off depression s, protect the brain from aging and increase dopamine (the brain chemical that keeps you motivated).

I agree with you on this. Quality exercise buildteam brain too as it becomes more active. The power of sleep shouldn't be underestimated too. Quality sleep is a must. You don't want to be down with headache everytime, You won't remember anything.
