St George and mistery Big Secret boy

I titled this photo 'dont explain'
altought there should be a explanation. I dont think the cherub statue sits there by the pulpit without a reason, and with the candle which cross is upsoide down. The location of this building is the Saint George church, within a medioeval castle nearby Piacenza, Italy.
