Biden's COVID is improving.

Still no fever. Technically he can leave isolation today as it has been 24 hours since his symptoms improved, but I assume he's going to remain in isolation all weekend in Delaware.

Genomic sequencing finally came back. Biden got infected by KP.2.3. That's one of the so-called "FLiRT" variants that has been contributing to this summer wave of the coronavirus.

According to the letter, KP.2.3 is about 33.3% of new cases (the nowcast says something different, but I assume the CDC has more up-to-date information).

KP.2.3 is a descendant of KP.2 which is a descendant of JN.1. The new vaccines coming in September are going to target JN.1/KP.2. Everybody is recommended to get the new vaccines when they are released.
