The following is from John 2:1-25

A few days after Jesus's disciples devoted themselves to him, Jesus, his mother, and along with his disciples, were all invited to a wedding. A point came in the wedding that they ran out of wine. Upon this, Jesus's mother turn to Jesus and told him the problem. Jesus turned to his mother and said, "Dear woman, why are you telling me this? It is not yet time for me to begin my work." John 2:4

His mother turn to the servants and told them to do just as Jesus asks of them. So, Jesus got to work. There were six large stone waterpots present and Jesus said to the servants,  "Fill the waterpots with water." John 2:7

Once the waterpots were filled, Jesus said to the servants, "Now dip out some water and take it to the man in charge of the feast." John 2:8

When the man in charge of the feast tasted it, he was surprised to notice that it was wine. He did not know where it came from. He turned to the bridegroom and asked him why he was serving the best wine near the end of the ceremony, for usually the best wine is served at the beginning; and, when guests are drunk, the cheaper wine is brought out.

A few days after this miracle was performed, Jesus went to Jerusalem for Passover. It seems that it was at this point when Jesus is commissioned to begin his work.

There, in the Temple, he noticed people buying and selling goods. He was upset with them, and reacted by turning over sellers' tables and told them all to take all their belongings and livestock and leave. When he turned to the pigeon sellers, he said to them, "Take these things out of here! Don’t make my Father’s house a place for buying and selling!" John 2:16

Then some of the Jews asked Jesus for a miracle, they wanted to know if he truly was allowed to do this. Jesus responded by saying, "Destroy this temple and I will build it again in three days." John 2:19

They were dumbfounded by his answer. They could not understand how a temple that took 46 years to be built could be rebuilt in three days.

Jesus's disciples referring to Psalm 69:9 "My strong devotion to your Temple will destroy me," understood what Jesus meant. Jesus was referring to his own body as the temple. He would be raised from the dead if they ever attempted on his life.
