Just like David in the bible was underestimated but with his faith and the help of God he was able to defeat Goliath and make a great impact in the kingdom, he added value to the lives of the people of Israelites because of his potentials.
Everyone has potentials to be great, you first have to discover and develop them, then use them to for the good of humanity, that is benefiting your society from your God given talents.

Live a spiritual life;
As Christians we must endeavor to build up our Christian faith and prayer life! Living a consistent life in Christ just as Paul asked in acts 19:2 "have ye received the Holy Ghost since yesterday believed?" and in 2nd Peter 3:18 "grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ " by so doing you develop virtues of courage,knowledge,wisdom,selfcontrol,patience etc and mostly the love for God.

Also studying God's word daily is a way to add value to your life, study the Bible regularly ,with devotion to building your prayer life.Here are three scriptures that shows the importance of studying the Bible!
In Acts 17:11
"Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so."
The Bible encourages us to examine the scriptures 'daily'.

Timothy 3:15
and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
Reading the scriptures acquire us wisdom that leads to everlasting life in Christ Jesus.

Lastly in Matthew 22:29
But Jesus answered and said to them, "You are mistaken, not understanding the Scriptures nor the power of God."
Christ acknowledges that it is a mistake not to understand the gospel and God's power.
