BIBLE STORIES # 38 - Jesus walks on the waters
Having fed the crowd, Jesus told the disciples to take a boat and sail to the other shore, and he himself ascended the mountain to pray alone.
Deep in the night, when the boat was already in the middle of the sea, the disciples suddenly saw Jesus walking towards them directly over the stormy waves! The disciples decided with fear that it was a ghost, but Jesus said to them:
- Do not be afraid! It is me!
And in the boat was the very first His disciple, fisherman Simon, to whom Jesus gave the name Peter, which means "rock." Peter shouted to Jesus:
Teacher! If it's true You, let me go to meet you on the water!
Go on! - Jesus answered, Peter left the boat and took a few steps. But when he got scared, he immediately began to sink. Jesus held out his hand and dragged him into the boat, saying only:
Well, what do you doubt!
