Occult practices in the Bible: Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire. Deuteronomy 18:10

It is considered that the Book of Deuteronomy was given by the prophet Moses to the people of Israel before their arrival in the holy land, Canaan; the Deuteronomy is an extension of the Decalogue, and contains many precepts for its application in daily life to make Israel a holy nation.
And one of these precepts is the rejection of the idolatry and the occult practices. Because idolatry as a sin brings with it an aggravating circumstance, which is heresy, that is, the practice of error. For this reason, Moses warned the Israelites not to take the customs and cults of the peoples they were going to conquer, because this meant a break with the pact made with God.
And this warning was not a minor thing, because the Bible shows the problem of this sin when King Saul, distressed by his situation, went to Endor to consult a fortune teller who practiced occult arts in 1 Samuel 28:1-25. The First Book of Chronicles tells us that for having done this, for consulting a fortune teller and not God, King Saul was punished with the death in 1 Chronicles 10:13-14.
With these words, Deuteronomy condemns the hidden arts and all forms of idolatry:
"When you enter the land the LORD your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD; because of these same detestable practices the LORD your God will drive out those nations before you." Deuteronomy 18:9-12.
