Ghuluw Christians against Jesus

Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says,

يَٰٓأَهۡلَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ لَا تَغۡلُواْ فِي دِينِكُمۡ وَلَا تَقُولُواْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلۡحَقَّۚ إِنَّمَا ٱلۡمَسِيحُ عِيسَى ٱبۡنُ مَرۡيَمَ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ وَكَلِمَتُهُۥٓ أَلۡقَىٰهَآ إِلَىٰ مَرۡيَمَ وَرُوحٌ مِّنۡهُۖ فَ‍َٔامِنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦۖ وَلَا تَقُولُواْ ثَلَٰثَةٌۚ ٱنتَهُواْ خَيۡرًا لَّكُمۡۚ إِنَّمَا ٱللَّهُ إِلَٰهُ وَٰحِدٌۖ سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥٓ أَن يَكُونَ لَهُۥ وَلَدٌۘ لَّهُۥ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ وَكِيلًا

"O people of the book, do not transgress the limits of your religion, and do not say anything against God except the truth. Verily, the Messiah, Isa, son of Maryam, is God's messenger and (created by) His words that He conveyed to Maryam , and is one of the spirits that He created. So believe in Allah and His Messengers and do not say, '(God is) three.' Stop (from saying that). (That) is better for you. Indeed, Allah is the One and Only God, Most Holy is Allah from having children, everything in the heavens and the earth belongs to Him. Sufficient is Allah to be the Sustainer." (An-Nisa: 171)

Ibnu Katsir, may God have mercy on him, said,

"Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala forbids the people of the book to do evil and praise excessively. This is done a lot by Christians. The Christians overstepped the limit against Jesus to the point of elevating him to a higher degree than the degree that God had given him. They elevated Jesus above the level of prophethood to make him a worshiper other than God. They worship him like they worship Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala..."
