Director General, Border Guard Bangladesh

Major General Abul Hossain, NDC, PSC, P. Eng (Maj Gen Abul Hossain, ndc, psc, P Eng) joined as Director General of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB). He took charge of the BGB on the morning of 16 November, 2016. He was earlier appointed as the Military Secretary of the Honorable President.

Major General Abul Hossain was born on 15 March, 1962 in a respectable Muslim family. He joined the Bangladesh Military Academy in 01 February 1980 and on 27 December 1981, the commissioner of Engineers Corps of Bangladesh Army got the commission. He is a Civil Engineering Graduate of Bangladesh University of Engineering (BUET). He also obtained EMBA degree from Bachelor of Science from Chittagong University, Master in Defense Studies from National University and American International University of Bangladesh (AIUB) and completed M Phil (Part-1) from the University of Professionals (BUP). He is the lifetime fellows of the Bangladesh Institute of Engineers and a respected Fellow of Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies, USA.

Major General Abul Hossain performed various important functions in the field of staff, training and command level in military career. He served as the Brigade Major of the GSA-2 and 14 Independent Engineer Brigade of Engineer-in-Chief Branch of the Army Headquarters. As a coach, he has done the responsibility of Senior Instructor and Chief Instructor of School of Military Engineering with great skill and goodwill. He was the commander of the 17th Engineer Construction Battalion at the command level of the Expositional Ordnance Battalion Kuwait. He was the Director of the Special Works Organization and the Sector Commander of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB). Besides, he is the Project Officer of Chimbuk-Thanchi Road Construction Project of Chittagong Hill Tract, Director (Works) and Chief Engineer of Bangladesh Army, Chief Engineer of Dhaka City Corporation, Commandant of Bangladesh Ordinance Factory, Commandant of Military Institute of Science and Technology, Engineer in Chief of Bangladesh Army and Honor The military secretary of the president Do it responsibly.

Major General Abul Hossain has participated in many military professional training courses in the country and abroad. He completed the Junior Officer Combat Engineering Course from China, the Battalion Commander Command Course from Turkey, the International Border Security and Management Course from the United Kingdom, and the Advanced Security Cooperation Course from the United States. He is a respected Graduate of Defense Services Command and Staff College and National Defense College, situated in Dhaka's Mirpur Cantonment. He also completed the Capstone course from National Defense College, Mirpur. He participated in the reconstruction of United Nations peacekeeping mission, Mozambique and Operation Kuwait.

He traveled to different countries of the world. He has interest in reading books and playing golf. He is married in a person's life and is a father of two children.

মেজর জেনারেল আবুল হোসেন, এনডিসি, পিএসসি, পি ইঞ্জ (Maj Gen Abul Hossain, ndc, psc, P Eng) বর্ডার গার্ড বাংলাদেশ (বিজিবি) এর মহাপরিচালক হিসেবে যোগদান করেছেন। তিনি গত ১৬ নভেম্বর ২০১৬ তারিখ সকালে বিজিবি দায়িত্বভার গ্রহণ করেন। তিনি ইতঃপূর্বে মহামান্য রাষ্ট্রপতির সামরিক সচিব হিসেবে নিযুক্ত ছিলেন।

মেজর জেনারেল আবুল হোসেন ১৯৬২ সালের ১৫ মার্চ এক সম্ভ্রান্ত মুসলিম পরিবারে জন্মগ্রহণ করেন। তিনি ১৯৮০ সালের ০১ ফেব্রুয়ারি মাসে বাংলাদেশ মিলিটারী একাডেমিতে যোগদান করেন এবং ১৯৮১ সালের ২৭ ডিসেম্বর বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনীর ইঞ্জিনিয়াার্স কোরে কমিশন লাভ করেন। তিনি বাংলাদেশ প্রকৌশল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় (BUET) এর একজন সিভিল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং গ্রাজুয়েট। এছাড়া তিনি চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে ব্যাচেলর অব সাইন্স, জাতীয় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে মাষ্টার্স ইন ডিফেন্স স্টাডিজ এবং আমেরিকান ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ইউনিভার্সিটি অব বাংলাদেশ (AIUB) থেকে ইএমবিএ ডিগ্রী অর্জন করেন এবং বাংলাদেশ ইউনিভার্সিটি অব প্রফেশনালস (BUP) থেকে এম ফিল (পার্ট-১) সম্পন্ন করেন। তিনি বাংলাদেশ ইঞ্জিনিয়ার্স ইনস্টিটিউট এর আজীবন ফেলো এবং এশিয়া প্যাসিফিক সেন্টার ফর সিকিউরিটি স্টাডিজ, ইউএসএ এর একজন সম্মানিত ফেলো।

মেজর জেনারেল আবুল হোসেন সামরিক কর্মজীবনে স্টাফ, প্রশিক্ষণ ও কমান্ড পর্যায়ে বিভিন্ন গুরুত্বপূর্ণ দায়িত্ব পালন করেন। তিনি সেনা সদরের ইঞ্জিনিয়ার ইন চীফ শাখার জিএসও-২ এবং ১৪ স্বতন্ত্র ইঞ্জিনিয়ার ব্রিগেডের ব্রিগেড মেজর হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করেন। প্রশিক্ষক হিসেবে তিনি স্কুল অব মিলিটারী ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং এর সিনিয়র ইনস্ট্রাকটর ও চীফ ইন্সট্রাক্টর এর দায়িত্ব অত্যন্ত দক্ষতা ও সুনামের সাথে পালন করেছেন। তিনি কমান্ড পর্যায়ে ১৭ ইঞ্জিনিয়ার কন্সট্রাকশন ব্যাটালিয়ন এ এক্সপ্লোসিভ অর্ডন্যন্স ব্যাটালিয়ন কুয়েত এর অধিনায়ক হিসেবে দায়িত্বরত ছিলেন। তিনি স্পেশাল ওয়ার্কস অর্গানাইজেশন এর পরিচালক এবং বর্ডার গার্ড বাংলাদেশ (বিজিবি) এর সেক্টর কমান্ডার হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করেন। এছাড়া তিনি পার্বত্য চট্টগ্রামের চিম্বুক-থানছি রোড কনস্ট্রাকশন প্রজেক্টের প্রজেক্ট অফিসার, বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনীর পরিচালক (পূর্ত) ও চীফ ইঞ্জিনিয়ার, ঢাকা সিটি কর্পোরেশনের চীফ ইঞ্জিনিয়ার, বাংলাদেশ অর্ডন্যান্স ফ্যাক্টরীর কমান্ড্যান্ট, মিলিটারি ইন্সটিটিউট অব সাইন্স এন্ড টেকনোলজি এর কমান্ড্যান্ট, বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনীর ইঞ্জিনিয়ার ইন চীফ এবং মহামান্য রাষ্ট্রপতির সামরিক সচিব হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করেন।

মেজর জেনারেল আবুল হোসেন দেশ-বিদেশে পেশাগত অনেক সামরিক প্রশিক্ষণ কোর্সে অংশগ্রহন করেছেন। তিনি চীন হতে জুনিয়র অফিসার কম্ব্যাট ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং কোর্স, তুরস্ক হতে ব্যাটালিয়ন কমান্ডার কমান্ড কোর্স, যুক্তরাজ্য হতে ইন্টারন্যশনাল বর্ডার সিকিউরিটি এন্ড ম্যানেজমেন্ট কোর্স, যুক্তরাষ্ট্র হতে এ্যাডভান্সড সিকিউরিটি কো-অপারেশন কোর্স সম্পন্ন করেন। তিনি ঢাকার মিরপুর সেনানিবাসে অবস্থিত ডিফেন্স সার্ভিসেস কমান্ড এন্ড স্টাফ কলেজ ও ন্যাশনাল ডিফেন্স কলেজের একজন সম্মানিত গ্রাজুয়েট। এছাড়া তিনি ন্যাশনাল ডিফেন্স কলেজ, মিরপুর থেকে ক্যাপস্টন (Capstone) কোর্স সম্পন্ন করেন। তিনি জাতিসংঘ শান্তি রক্ষা মিশন, মোজাম্বিক এবং অপারেশন কুয়েত পুনর্গঠনে অংশগ্রহন করেন।

তিনি বিশ্বের বিভিন্ন দেশ ভ্রমন করেছেন। বই পড়া এবং গলফ খেলার প্রতি তাঁর আগ্রহ রয়েছে। তিনি ব্যক্তি জীবনে বিবাহিত এবং দুই কণ্যা সন্তানের জনক ।
