Update on Grantcoin
Today as I was checking my computer I received a notification I had received my Grantcoin, I opened the wallet which I leave running and saw not one but two deposits. This was the first time I have received any Grantcoin, so I'm not quite sure why it was done it two deposits.
Exchanging and Using
Now that I have received my deposits of Grantcoin, I went about looking how to exchange the Grantcoin so I could use them! Both the Grantcoin and CoinMarketCap websites list only two exchanges where the Grantcoin can be exchanged.
- Bittrex -a Major US based exchange.
- SouthXchange - Exchange based in Argentina, has both English and Spanish interface.
Mining
I also was looking to see if there was a way to mine more! The coins code base was modified from Peercoin so right now they are using the sha256 PoW ( Proof of Work) Algorithm so unless you have a good ASIC the hash power is to high for most people to be able to achieve.
Right now you still can mine Grantcoin there is a pool at suprnova.com, but according to the Grantcoin website at some point they will be changing over by hard fork to a PoS (Proof of Stake) coin like Peercoin!
Possible Modifications: The Grantcoin Foundation may execute a hard fork in 2017 to transition to a token creation method based on an innovative modification of Proof-of-Stake.
The Grantcoin Blockchain Explorer. This can be used obviously to track or find transactions on the Grantcoin blockchain.

Question. What did u use for your grantcoin wallet. Did you download the wallet or use the twitter.. ?
I downloaded the wallet. So I have the full at version running.
Mmm that's what I think I'll do too. but my Mac doesn't like the App so I have to do a security run around first :(
ah, I got AVG and no issues, but the machine is also been used for mining! I just started using Twitter so for me it was not worth the other wallet options!
Hey, I got the wallet app going for my grantcoin. I'm pretty new to this whole thing. Is there anything else I need to do besides send them the address I found under "receive coins?" - also, how does Ekata Social fit into the mix. Just because you need to have a verifiable profile..or am I supposed to transfer the "units" I received to my wallet..? thx in advance ~
After you email them the address that was the last step I did then just wait. Based on quarters the next payment should be around March! I am going to keep an eye on Grantcoin since they will be switching over to PoS, like Peercoin. Then I may see if I can Stake the coins.
I did not receive my grantcoin yet, I don't know why.
They pay the Grantcoin once per quarter, and you would have to be registered by 1/21/2017 to have received this distribution!

Can we make a community of grantcoin users ?
At the moment SteemIt does not have the ability to make groups it is in the road map. So right now not sure if there is another way to do it!
